If your birthday between October 1 and December 31, your renewal date is in 2020.
If your birthday is before October 1, your renewal date is in 2021
SOCIAL WORK LICENSE RENEWAL
The Board of Registration of Social Workers protects the public through regulation of the practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It determines eligibility for admissions to examinations for social work, conducts examinations and licenses qualified individuals at one of four levels of licensure (LICSW, LCSW, LSW & LSWA).

Renewal Dates are set for every 2-years on your birthday, after 10/1/2018.
RENEWAL PROCESS
- Your Social Work (renewal) Authorization Code will be mailed to you with your 10-digit code a few months before your renewal date.

- If you do not receive the renewal authorization, you can email the Board
at: DPLauthcodes@mass.gov and include your full
name, license number and mailing address.

- Renew your license online through the DPL ePlacelicensing portal. You will be instructed to access or set up your account.
REQUIREMENT
LICSWs must be able to attest that they have submitted an application to be a Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) or a Non-Billing Provider to Mass Health or your License will not be renewed.

​All LICSWs who wish to apply to be QMB Only providers must contact the MassHealth Customer Service Center to receive an application at 800-841-2900

All applications, including the Non-billing Provider Application, requires an NPI number. Instructions on how to obtain an NPI CLICK HERE

All Applications require the inclusion of your Social Security Number (SSN) to allow MassHealth to perform the required review of the application in accordance with federal law.
