About the Event
Please join BU School of Social Work (BUSSW) and the Greater Boston Association of Black Social Workers (GBABSW) for a compelling panel discussion about the importance of making connections. The panel discussion, Connections Matter, will feature special guest, Melissa Smith Haley, MSW, LMSW, 14th NABSW president, immediate past president, as well as Malaka Mims, MSW, LICSW ,GBABSW president, the Membership and Student affairs committee, and BUSSW students, who will explore why building a strong network is crucial for personal and professional growth along with the following topics: building your professional network , prioritizing professional self care, advancing student and practitioner education and training , showcasing research and expertise and empowered people of African ancestry.
**We strongly encourage members and our community partners to attend. There will be a networking reception to follow the panel with refreshments served.
